Business Migration

Primary Requirements

There are just four Business immigration streams to Australia that can be divided into two categories according to the principle of proposed activities in Australia:

  • ACTIVE BUSINESS PARTICIPATION
  • PASSIVE INVESTING

Primary Requirements

ACTIVE BUSINESS PARTICIPATION
Primary Requirements for Business Innovation stream
  • own business management experience of at least 3 years
  • annual business turnover of at least AU $ 750,000 for the last two years
  • family assets of at least AU $ 1,500,000 for the last two years
  • get at least 65 points on the business visa points test
  • be under 55
  • Have a successful business career and a genuine desire to continuously own and manage a business in Australia.
Primary Requirements for Entrepreneur stream
  • must be involved or intend to be involved in a complying entrepreneur activity in Australia. The activity must relate to an innovative idea that will lead to the commercialisation of a product or service in Australia, or the development of an enterprise or business in Australia
  • must be recognised by the nominating State or Territory government agency to develop your entrepreneurial concepts. To check eligibility the nominating State or Territory needs to be contacted
  • have Competent English (IELTS-6666)
  • be under under 55
PASSIVE INVESTING
Primary Requirements for Investor stream 2.5 mil
  • have managed a qualifying business or investments for at least 3 years.
  • availability of family net assets of at least AU $ 2,500,000 for the last two years, which were formed as a result of your business or investment activities
  • must make a complying investment of at least AUD2.5 million. Must hold complying significant investments continuously for the life of your provisional visa. It must be invested in the following proportions
  • at least AUD500,000 in venture capital and growth private equity funds which invest in start-ups and small private companies
  • at least AUD750,000 in approved managed funds. The managed funds must invest in emerging companies listed on the Australian Stock Exchange
  • a ‘balancing investment’ of at least AUD1.25 million in managed funds
Significant Investor stream 5.0 mil
  • must make a significant investment of at least AUD5 million and have a genuine intention to hold that investment for the life of your provisional visa. It must be invested in the following ways:
  • at least AUD1 million in venture capital and growth private equity funds which invest in start-ups and small private companies
  • at least AUD1.5 million in approved managed funds. The managed funds must invest in emerging companies listed on the Australian Stock Exchange
  • a ‘balancing investment’ of at least AUD2.5 million in managed funds
  • no age requirements
  • no business or investment experience requirements
  • no English requirements
  • no point-test requirements
